Avista customers in Inchelium and the surrounding area to experience a planned power outage

Spokane, Wash. April 29, 2025: Approximately 3,200 Avista electric customers in Inchelium and the surrounding area will experience a planned power outage on Thursday, May 8 for approximately one hour. To minimize customer impact the planned outage will take place between 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and 1:00 a.m.

All impacted customers will be notified in advance. No road closures are anticipated during this time. This planned outage will allow Avista crews to perform essential maintenance on power equipment in the area.

“In addition to enhancing the reliability of our electric system in the area, we are developing plans to replace aging infrastructure, making our system more resilient,” said Jan Hoogstad Avista operations manager for Colville. “Once our plans are finalized, we will communicate with the affected customers for awareness. We understand how disruptive power outages can be, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the recent power outages may have caused. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to improve our services.”
