Avista named as one of the 2021 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for the second time
Since Avista was founded on clean, renewable hydropower in 1889, the company has been able to serve its customers with an electric generation mix that’s more than half renewable, while keeping its carbon emissions among the lowest in the nation. Today, Avista continues to move closer to its goal to serve its customers with 100 percent clean electricity by 2045 and to have a carbon-neutral supply of electricity by the end of 2027. Grounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient®, the World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment process includes more than 200 questions on culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, governance, diversity and initiatives to support a strong value chain. The process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify the leading practices of organizations across industries and around the globe.
This year, the process was streamlined and question set expanded to gauge how applicants are adapting and responding to the global health pandemic, environmental, social, and governance factors, safety, equity, and inclusion and social justice.
