Gregory Hesler joined Avista in 2015, after more than a decade of work as outside counsel for Avista while working as a partner in the law firm Paine Hamblen, LLP, where his practice focused on, among other things, utilities, land use, environmental and tribal issues, and general commercial litigation. Hesler has held a variety of roles within Avista, including responsibility for departmental leadership and providing legal support for operations, real estate, environmental, compliance and other functions.
Hesler has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Gonzaga University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Law. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, as well as on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest. In addition, he completed the Utility Executive Course at the University of Idaho and the Executive Leadership Development Program from the American Gas Association.
