Spokane, Wash., July 17, 2025: Avista will be closing the road between New Jersey Mine on Highwater Gulch Road and Elizabeth Park in Kellogg from Monday, July 21, to Thursday, July 24. The road closure will occur between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. Additionally, the same road will be closed from Monday, July 28, to Thursday, July 31, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

The road closure is necessary as Avista crews convert overhead power lines to underground. This work will support wildfire resilience, safety, and reliability of the infrastructure in the area. Traffic control will be in place while these improvements are being completed.
